Photographic Theater
In June 2003, I was given 200 feet of wall space to develop a show at Usine C (an industrial theater in Montreal) during their Festival de Théâtre des Amériques. There I installed nine mural-sized black and white photographs and eight small sets to explore the inter-relationship between photography and theater. My logic was if photography documents the world and theater mirrors it, what better way to express our cultural unconscious than by using photography in theater.
